Ohio's task force report is an exemplar model of state level recommendations for math pathways as it addresses not only the alignment of multiple pathways with programs of study, but also the alignment of two- and four-year institutions and postsecondary and K-12. Beyond the common themes of acceleration and improved transfer, there is also an explicit emphasis on comprehensive data collection and creating a formal statewide mathematics community. Also, it places the need for differentiated pathways into a larger context that includes national and state trends affecting the study of mathematics.
